What started out as a love for animals has turned into a need to help them. For more than 20 years, my family has taken in homeless animals - just a few at first, then their numbers began to grow. When I was in college, I found there were many abandoned cats on the college campus. We began taking them in, intending to find homes, but many had health problems that made them unadoptable. After college, I started working at a local school. When I stayed late one night, I walked outside to find three kittens, only a few months old, jumping in and out of garbage cans looking for food. I asked around and discovered that the kittens' mother had died weeks earlier and there were also several other cats on the campus. We began a TNR program, releasing some feral cats back to the campus and taking in those who were tame and wanted to live in our home. We have also helped others with similar situations and taken those cats in as well. Cats, dogs and even birds have managed to find their way to our home, as though there is a sign out front that says "Animals Welcome". We currently share our home with one dog and more than 100 cats.

While nobody plans to have this many pets, we just couldn't turn them away, so we're finding ways to make it work. We do not have a 501(c)(3) status due to the high cost just to apply. We have worked hard to create a safe and healthy environment for everyone, while on a very tight budget. We are in the process of remodelling our home to make it as animal friendly as possible. With so many "helpers", it's a slow process, and we're doing it ourselves (tiling, painting, repairs).

We have wonderful veterinarians who help us by providing lower costs and excellent treatment.

In this website, you will find information we have gathered over the years. Through trial and error, we have found the best products and methods that work for us, and we want to share this information with others.

This website is a constant work in progress.
